Room Rules
Geist is a medieval room with the element of magic. Our magic rules have their own heading so any questions, concerns, comments can be found there.
We like to keep it simple. We’re medieval, so, no guns. Just because there’s magic doesn’t mean you can go pooft and have a gun. Let me repeat: no guns
We’re all adults here. In order to play in this room and on this site you need to be at least 18 years of age. All characters must meet this requirement too.
Our members consist of the room leaders: King Duncan, Queen Tesia, Prince Oden, and Princess Mina. There are also Nobles, Citizens and slaves. The choice you make for your character is made before you enter the room. Do not ask to change it once you become a member.
On that note, playing a slave is a choice as we do not have a force collar policy here. So we ask that you are comfortable with the concept of slaves before joining. Do not ask a slave to address you by name. By their nature and role they will not.
Castle Structure:
The castle is ruled by King Duncan and Queen Tesia.
While the Last word on EVERYTHING falls to the King and Queen, the ruling power is made up of the King, Queen, Prince Oden, Princess Mina, and Baroness BlackWolfe.
Now as to Nobility, citizenship, etc. When you join the home you join as who you are (Lord/Lady, Citizen, slave). You are not automatically given title. Titles are earned. Though you may go by Lord or Lady if you so wish. The choice is up to you, though the address is fairly empty and given out of respect. You have the same amount of power as Lord or Lady as a Citizen does. It is up to you to distinguish whether you are a Lord/Lady or Citizen. Titles will be given out to those who earn them and have shown merit and loyalty to Castle Giest. This does not translate into kissing ass, though it never hurts, it won’t get you anywhere.
So to get around to saying what I was going to say. (confusing right?)
Hierarchy of the room goes like this:
King/Queen
Prince/Princess
Baroness BlackWolfe
Titled Nobility
Nobility (i.e. Lords/Ladies)
Citizens
Outcasts
Slaves
What’s an outcast you may ask? An Outcast is a member of the room (used mainly for Roleplay, which has not sworn allegiance to the King and Queen.) They do not live in the Castle, the Village, or outlying areas. You’ll find outcasts buried deep within the forests. This role is to be used sparingly and must adhere to all rules of the room and acknowledge the power structure.

Relationships
Relationships develop between characters (i.e. courting, etc.) keep it realistic. Don’t be flirting one day, engaged the next, and/or delivering your fourth child on the fifth day. Also they do end, sometimes it’s, messy sometimes it’s not. Keep the drama out of the room, don’t make it about sides, who’s right or wrong. We are all adults here.
Characters marry, this happens, and if you wish to rp a pregnancy it needs to be rp'd for 9 months. Let me repeat, 9 months. Also children cannot be played, they can be referred to in passing posts but they cannot be interacted with.
Again, reference all characters and their players must be at least 18 years of age. Children can be referred to, they cannot be NPC’d.
AV's
Oh how they are fun to create and wear and show off your talent at making them! For Citizens, you’re clothed, no bits and pieces flashing please. No wardrobe malfunctions.
No anime, comics or cartoons.
For slaves, girls you’re wearing sexy but tasteful. It can be sheer, light gauzy material, but keep it tasteful, no hoohoo’s on display. Boys, you are in leathers or short pants, no one wants to see your bits and pieces swinging in the breeze.
Roleplay Oasis avi size limit is 400 pixels tall by 550 pixels wide.
Nothing that flashes, blinks, etc, this goes for fonts as well.

Joining
So how do you join? Visit us, watch the roleplay, and get to know us. We’re harmless, for the most part. If you want to participate in the roleplay you are welcome to do so in a limited capacity. Once you’ve decided you want to stay, let one of the founding members (King Duncan, Queen Tesia, Lady BlackWolfe, Prince Oden, and Princess Mina) know and we’ll go from there.
What’s the process to join? Just let someone know you want to join, you’ll be given probationary membership, we’ll discuss it and let you know.
Magic
There is a whole section dedicated to this, where you can ask questions. There are more detailed descriptions and answers on the board, but to be short and sweet, magic is allowed here. Some people have familiars and there is an empathetic connection between them (them being owner and familiar, you can’t be out in the woods and strike up a conversation with a bird, rabbit, etc.), but there are no talking animals.
So dude, there’s like magic, are there any magical creatures? Yes, but don’t be stupid with this one and abuse it. Magical creatures are to be used sparingly. They are not sprinkled all over the place like warts on a frog. Here the seven laws of magic apply, which are found under the magic section.
A very important rule: slaves will enter without any magical talent. A slave's talents and magic, like their body is not their own to use. Through their collar slaves may be rewarded with limited talents but must follow rules on what/how and with whom they may use those talents. These talents can be bestowed on any slave but only by a Free and only after the Ruling Family has given leave to the gifting Free to do this. Magic is a privilege and privileges are controlled by the Free.
Nonhuman Characters
You are to remain in human form at all times while within the confines of Castle Geist, all shape changes must take place outside of the castle so if you are a shape-changer, the change has to take place before entering the castle.
Characters
I don’t care how many other characters you play in other realms, rooms, etc., in Castle Geist you will only play one character, unless you have been given leave to play more.
Let’s refresh:
How many characters can you play in Castle Giest? One (two if registered)
After some thought and debate We came to the conclusion that it is permissible to play two characters in Castle Geist, but that the Royal Family/Council will be advised of all characters being played by a single typest. We understand and honour those that are adept at playing more then one characterer but also know that like gender bending, few can do it effectively. Any secondary characters will be registered and will go through a trial period before they become permanent characters in the Home.
There is a board set up specifically for second characters. This board is set up so that only you and the board administrators can to see and access those posts. These posts will NOT be public domain.
Teacher, Teacher, what if I start a character and I don’t like it? What do I do then?
You retire that character, and you have to come in as another character.
Can I change my character from a slave to a Citizen? Someone who has brought a character in as a slave cannot have that character freed to become a citizen/noble. Slave characters stay slave characters. If you are not happy with that character retire it and bring in someone different.
Unless you can give Castle Geist your full attention don’t come in. Playing in more than one room at the same time is rude as your full attention is diverted and can cause problems if there is a particular scenario going on.
We do understand how r/t can intrude and we do not condemn those who need to tear themselves away for r/t issues
Note: as much as we love Castle Geist r/t must always come first.
